Help Ricardo Heystek Fight This Battle

At just seven years old, Ricardo Heystek overcame cancer through incredible courage and determination. Today, he is facing another life-threatening challenge.

After recently experiencing seizures caused by a lesion on the left side of his brain, Ricardo's condition suddenly deteriorated on 29 June 2026. He was rushed to Midmed Hospital in South Africa, where doctors discovered severe brain swelling. He was immediately intubated and admitted to intensive care, where he remains under specialist treatment.

Because Ricardo does not have medical aid and was too unstable to be transferred, his family had no choice but to admit him to a private hospital. They have covered the initial costs, but the private medical expenses continue to increase as he receives the critical care he needs.
