Adelaide's Journey to heal from TSW in Thailand with CAP therapy.
Canterbury
Hi, I'm Sam, and I’m reaching out for your support to help my wife Adelaide get the treatment she needs for Topical Steroid Withdrawal (TSW).
Adelaide is a loving wife and mum who loves helping others, but now finds herself stuck at home, needing help.
She has suffered from eczema since childhood and has tried many treatments including oral and topical steroids, immunosuppressants, and skin therapy, but all have failed to help, and some have made it worse.
Adelaide is now battling TSW which means she now lives with burning, flaking, intense itching, nerve pain, total body inflammation, and insomnia. TSW has taken away her independence, quality of life, and her ability to be the mum she wants to be. Even a gentle embrace of a hug brings her pain instead of comfort.
TSW occurs when the body becomes dependent on topical steroids. Once these are stopped, the immune system and skin can go into shock, causing a harsh and long withdrawal process.
There is no treatment or funding for TSW in New Zealand so Adelaide's research has lead her to CAP therapy in Thailand. She has connected with other Kiwis who have been to Thailand and experienced real results with CAP therapy. Their stories and support have given us hope that Adelaide, too, can heal with this therapy.
If you’re able to contribute, it would mean the world to us. No matter how much is raised, every dollar will go directly toward the cost of Adelaide's CAP therapy journey.
Thank you for taking the time to read Adelaide’s story.
Adeliade is my wife.

Adelaide has completed her trip to Thailand and has received CAP treatment. The Cap treatment went very well. Her skin is looking much healthier and we have learnt so much. Adelaide has had to come home early though after becoming sick and not being able to complete any more CAP treatment. We are truly grateful for all the donations which enabled Adelaide to make the most of her stay in Thailand and receive as much treatment as possible, and thank you for your support and messages.
