Unite for My Burkitt Lymphoma Healing Journey

Dear friends & Kind Souls,

My name is Mike, and I find myself reaching out to you with a heart full of hope and a touch of vulnerability. 🙏

For the past three years, I have professionally supported clients in Auckland on their journeys through life's challenges, including chemotherapy, cancer battles, and traumatic brain injuries. I don't panic, and I try to let go. Now, I feel like a wounded healer who must win his battle. 🌱

When in June I arrived to Poland for holidays, I didn't expect it to extend for so long.

If you know me, you probably know that for a year, I struggled with the pain like something was eating me from the inside.

I underwent many tests, and the results didn't point to this final diagnosis until the moment I was about to return to New Zealand, where I live for the last four years and call it my home. I was at the stage that I couldn't board the flight, need of ambulance, surgery, tumor removal, and intestine resection followed, revealing a life-changing diagnosis 🤯 :

Summary: Burkitt lymphoma, stage IV, with extensive infiltrations impacting multiple organs.

In the hands of excellent specialists, I undergo rigorous "R-IVAC/R-CODOX" chemo treatment.

I face 4-6 or 8 months of weekly cycles.

Burkitt lymphoma is rare and aggressive but responds well to treatment, so I do have faith! 🌟

So for time being I’ll continue receiving treatment overseas until next PET scan will give me green light and I’ll be able to return to Aotearoa
