Horror year

I was made redundant just over a year ago. I had savings, but while looking for a new job i asked for assistance from WINZ. They said they can't help with any assistance until my savings were gone. Then in late November i got confirmation for an operation i have been waiting to get from my years for Otosclerosis (can't hear very well, about 13% of normal). The recovery from the operation took 2 months. I started looking for work again, but covid-19 hit. During this period i was really depressed, missing my family, stuck inside and went downhill badly. Since then i have had diagnoses and am unable to work. until close to Christmas. I had the doctors sent to WINZ for help. They told me i have to stay on a job seekers referral. You can only get sickness assistance if you are not capable of going back to work in 2 years! Imagine, you are injured, can't work for 1 year 11 months and 25 days and WINZ will keep you on a job seekers referral. It is insanity. Last week i had 21 cents left after bills. LOL.
