What we thought was a swollen, sprained ankle has been diagnosed as an aggressive form of cancer.
Canterbury
We have received the devastating news that our boy Horse has Sarcoma and at only 7 years old the current recommendation is amputation of his leg where the tumour is, followed by chemo. Horse was born in the SPCA with four siblings and has been with us since he was 3 months old and he's our everything. He's never had any health issues before and we're still coming to terms with the shock diagnosis.
The prognosis isn't good even with treatment and we're not sure what route we'll go yet but Horse's quality of life is our priority.
Naturally we're booked in with another vet on Monday for a second opinion, as well as a specialist who will do x-rays and potentially a biopsy to see if and how far it's spread, and to confirm what sort of sarcoma we're dealing with.
No matter the outcome we're looking at ongoing vet bills for the next wee while and we've set up this page to welcome any help we can get.
Wongi has produced a Print of one of his original street art works which we will send to anyone who makes a donation of $120 or more. The high quality print is 218mm x 455mm on 300gsm hot press archival cotton fibre paper and besides helping us and our boy, it's a rare chance to own one of Wongi's works.
You can view a copy of the print in the Gallery.
