Rebecca has had her first shower in 6weeks !! She feels like a new baby ...and nowshe can walk unsupported for short distances and longer times with her walker. Rebecca is able to giver herself her meals, hold her coffee cup, and also hold her phone and text!!
Amazing progress with home looking more likely by mid July..GO REBECCA!!
Rebecca is battling total exhaustion after 1hr in a chair. She has to be hoisted there as cannot stand yet. She has had Chris and one son to visit her over the weekend. I have spoken to her and we have had a giggle at a few things and she remains her usual giving self, wanting to know how Les and I and how my family are faring. Chris has had to buy her a "hands free" phone which the tech guys are trying to sort for her . Hopefully by Tuesday we may be able to communicate. The Doc says in 5 weeks she will be able to have the brace removed and X rays will tell if she is able to try standing then. Both Chris and Rebecca are touched by the donations people have pledged and remain grateful for all the love and support sent their way.
This evening Rebecca will move to Burwood Spinal Unit for surgery to fix her cervical spine in place.We are hoping for removal of "halo" and walking within a day or two.Her arm strength may take longer.
