Help Kingi to build the dream home that he had hoped to establish for his whānau after a fire destroyed the home he had relocated.
Bay of Plenty
Kingi Williams, a renowned MMA fighter, coach, trainer and friend who has touched the lives of so many, found out today that the home he was trying to build and had fought so hard for was destroyed in a suspicious fire attack on his ancestral Māori lands.
Police and Fire investigations are underway in the hope that justice will eventually prevail. In the meantime, there is much to be done to clean up the remains of the burnt relocated home that was unfortunately not insured.
For those of you that are privileged to call Kingi a friend - you will know that he had poured his heart, blood, sweat, tears and pockets over the last two years to try and bring his dream to fruition to return to Hiwarau and live just as his ancestors did, raising his tamariki, living by the tides and the moon - sustained by the whenua and moana.
With aspirations to still move his young whānau onto the land by November this year, Kingi now needs your generous support, love and kindness to pick up the pieces - and continue to make this goal a reality so that Kingi may begin planning for how he is able to continue to build a legacy for his whānau and future generations.
I am Kingi's partner. Together, we had planned to get married on the deck of our relocatable home - and hope that we still can.
Kingi will utilise any donations towards building a home for his whānau.
For the seed that you sow into our whanau, may you reap a hundred fold xx Arohanui Kingi, Jodi & whanau xx
