Please support Olwen Anderson get back on her feet after a fire destroyed her home

Waikato

On the 27th of February 2020 late in the evening at Russel Road in Huntly, the Anderson Family (Olwen, Craig and Pauline) home caught fire. The Huntly Volunteer Fire Brigade and neighbors were quick to respond to the incident and gratefully none of the occupants were harmed. The family now have a difficult road ahead of them as a large portion of the house has had been completely burnt out.

Our aim is to raise funds to help Olwen get back on her feet. This would go directly towards her immediate needs as much of her house and belongings have been destroyed. Although Olwen has some insurance, it will be a lengthy process and a long time before the home is livable again. She has now found herself without her home of many years and just the clothes she had on.

Any funds raised in excess of our goal will go directly to the Huntly Volunteer Fire Brigade.

Olwen Anderson is a longstanding Huntly resident and might be a familiar face. Once owner of the Brighton Dairy on the state highway, opposite the Bell Crossing. She has been involved in many community groups including Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, Church Fundraising drives, Outreaches and much more.

The fire completely destroyed the kitchen where she has spent 100s of hours cooking and baking for families and individuals facing times of struggle, bereavement and hardship.. not withstanding those that benefited within the endless charitable fundraisers for community groups, she has given her time, love and whatever she could year in and year out.

I have created this give a little page for Olwen. As anyone that knows her will tell you she can be little hard headed. However, I believe that now is a time that to help her, as she has helped so many people.

If you have ever benefited from Olwen's huge love to help people, please consider helping her get through the coming weeks.

Olwen is in her own words My Wife's Mother and Nana to our Son. We are honored to have her with us for the foreseeable future through this time of hardship.
