To raise donations and awareness for the Dunedin Night Shelter
Otago
On any given night, there are approximately 30 people sleeping out on the streets in Dunedin, New Zealand. While that doesn't sound a lot, it equals around 11,000 annually sleeping outside. An average winter night in Dunedin is between 3-4 degrees Celcius, with the temperature sometimes dropping to below zero. Homelessness can be due to a number of factors. These include financial struggle, domestic violence, relation brokeness and mental health
Being homeless is not always a choice. Whether someone is an 18 or 83-year-old, homelessness can affect anyone at any age. The Dunedin Night Shelter provides a warm and safe environment for people to sleep as well as providing both dinner and breakfast during their stay.
The Dunedin Night Shelter relies solely on donations, which is why every dollar donated is immensely appreciated and is put to great use.
I and my group are fundraising for the Dunedin Night Shelter as part of a University Otago project.
100% of the funds will go directly to the Dunedin Night Shelter
