Please help us continue the care for our rescue animals. We need fencing, housing, vet care and feed so we can rescue more!!!
Nelson / Tasman
We are a little farm in Glenhope a property we purchased almost 4 years ago. My dream since I was a child was to rescue animals and that dream has become a reality!!
It wasn’t long before animals began arriving and the reality sank in fast. We were funding everything out of our own pockets, and still do, but we do need help. So we have set this up in the hope we can continue the quality of care we are known for.
So far we have rescued and rehabilitated two donkeys (permanent residents here) three alpacas (sadly we lost one), Kelvin the sheep, goats, Kune Kunes, large black pigs (Ollie the boar is our greatest success story), dogs, ducks, bobby calves and our latest rescue is a highland bull.
We have a Facebook page, PlumTreeFarm for you to follow.
Our ideal situation would be to have a part-time vet nurse dedicated to the care of our animals and more infustructure so we can transition rescues stress free and the biggy...food. We have a further 20 acres in need of fencing which will allow us to take on even more animals. With the hope to open our gates to the public. Which will then help cover our costs as well as educating people on animal welfare.
Funds will go into a seperate account dedicated to this cause and open for auditing.
Vet care, housing, fencing, feed, travel to collect animals. Our goal is to open our gates to the public so this will then help cover costs as well as educating the public.
New feet!! 5 October 2019
Thanks everyone for your donations and patience with my slow updates. As you can imagine it’s rather busy here!!
Well here is where the last lot of donations went!!
Two highlands obese, unwanted and neglected.
Their feet were our main concern as I have never seen over grown hooves as bad as this! They refer to this level of over growth as Aladdin’s feet, so you can imagine how bad they were. We raced with our livestock trailer to remove the cows from this situation onto there new home immediately (great to be able to do that!!)
Our awesome vets (who are now offering us a lovely discount on all rescues animals) came out to sedate the cows to give them a dam good pedicure. He determined the overgrowth was not a structural deformity and cleared. We did all this because of you!!! Thankyou xx
