Thanks everyone for your donations and patience with my slow updates. As you can imagine it’s rather busy here!!

Well here is where the last lot of donations went!!

Two highlands obese, unwanted and neglected.

Their feet were our main concern as I have never seen over grown hooves as bad as this! They refer to this level of over growth as Aladdin’s feet, so you can imagine how bad they were. We raced with our livestock trailer to remove the cows from this situation onto there new home immediately (great to be able to do that!!)

Our awesome vets (who are now offering us a lovely discount on all rescues animals) came out to sedate the cows to give them a dam good pedicure. He determined the overgrowth was not a structural deformity and cleared. We did all this because of you!!! Thankyou xx

  • Sad news for Gary the bull

I was going to wait for tomorrow to update you all on Gary the bull, as I’m pretty upset with the news we have received. We got the vet out today to sedate Gary and fully check his leg so we have a better idea on what’s wrong.

It was very bad news, his lateral collateral ligament in his knee joint is stuffed, lots of fibrosis, basically the joint is fused. Highly likely his crucial ligament is stuffed also. Same with his front leg which we weren’t aware of. So this boy is a mess and after trying so hard to help him I feel we have prolonged his suffering which doesn’t sit well with me.

    We adore this boy 😢❤️

***TO READ ABOUT GARY, SCROLL THROUGH OUR PLUMTREEFARM FACEBOOK PAGE...I have posted updates on his/our journey trying to help him. X

Pictured is Gary fast asleep while Joe the vet checks his leg.

Donations come in all shapes and sizes and very welcome!!

We recently were offered the frames and trusses of an old house. We instantly envisioned how many shelters we could make and even a feed shed!! Mal is away for the next couple of days carefully taking them down to bring upto the farm, big job for one guy, but we couldn’t refuse or let this generous offer go by. By the time Mal finishes he will be ready for three night shifts at work, that’s dedication for you. While mal is doing that I’m on the farm feeding out and doing all the stuff mal would do. So great team effort!!

Thanks again everyone for your continual support ❤️

Firstly we would like to thank those who have believed in us enough to donate to our rescue. We promise to update you all on what we do with the funds. Xxx

Introducing our new little billy ❤️

Incredibly sad story and an all to common one unfortunately. It’s mum was shot and baby was left for dead, other babies were found but sadly didn’t survive.

We are not against hunting as it is a form of pest control and better than the alternative 1080. But to kill nursing mothers and deliberately dump the babies is not OK!

We would like to thank a local diary farmer for some much needed colostrum for baby, thanks Natalie x

And a very special thanks to Tracy at Everbrook Diary Goats for supplying the next best thing to mothers milk ❤️ Tracy has been a supporter throughout our rescues and a wealth of knowledge 😘

Baby is doing well and once big enough will join our other goats to help with weed control on our farm. X

will be asking for name suggestions soon. Xx
