    1st day of spring. Happy workplace. We rearranged areas in the clothing departments to make it alot easier for our volunteers today. We mopped floors dusted shelves while half of our crew headed to the St Andrew's church to host our free Friday community lunch. We had to take that opportunity while the sun was shining to get a photo of our team at the end of the day 💜 love our volunteers. With only 3 months before Christmas we are in planning mode and are looking for a venue to once again host a Christmas community lunch. This will be on Christmas day as we know alot of our vulnerable dont have family to spend this day with. Others simply can't afford to eat anything outside their budget. We are here to cater for their needs. The menu on the day will be roast meats , vegetables and salads followed by desert. Treats for the kids and we can't forget the presents 🎁 its going to be great 👍

    Hi all. We are still doing our best to reach our target. Thank you all for following us on this path. We have extra funds from our fundraising efforts along with lottery commission funding $8k to help towards our van. Our target is $40K we are almost halfway. We will keep soldering on doing whatpt we do best, looking for other fundraising ideas or support along the way. Thank you again for the support 💙

    Once again I want to say a big thank you to all our supporters 🙏 The Koha shed volunteers are flat out at the shed 5 days week restocking, sorting and preparing the shop for our community in need. Winter has arrived and we are desperately needing winter stock. The need is increasing. I hope everyone is well 💚

    Hi everyone. Hope you are all well and keeping warm.

    The Koha Shed stay open through rain, hail and snow to meet the demands of our community in need. What else do we do ? Friday free lunches at St Andrews church starts at 12, a beautiful atmosphere with fresh home made hot soup + buns with a variety of food to take home. We stock clothing, bedding, brick a brac, household packs, furniture, homeless sets which include tents and cookware. We have a Portable shower for our homeless who love coming to the shop for a fresh change of clothing and to enjoy a hot shower. They will gather bedding, food and off they go back to their temporary accommodation ( tent ) most of the time. Its heartbreaking to see so many of our people homeless 💔 this is why we are here and why we do what we do. The price of food is criminal, we see pensioners coming in for food who havnt eaten for days. Its effecting everyone. Young and old, poverty doesn't discriminate. We fundraise by way of market days to pay our rates, lease and to stock up our foodbank.     We are still fundraising for our van and recently was approved some funds from the lottery commission. We are grateful to everyone for the support, we still need more $$ to find the perfect van, we have met with Toyota to see what they have, prices start from $25k and up. Something we don't have right now so all help is greatly appreciated. Again we thank you you all for your support from the Koha Shed Team X

    Christmas Eve the 24th December 2022 the Koha Shed ran a free Christmas eve event ❤ which included a delicious lunch, desert, Santa, and presents for all the children. The double decker bus had broken down so we managed to get the limo instead. Face painting, free market it was a huge success 👌 this is what the Koha Shed is all about. An amazing day with an amazing team. ❤❤❤

    Well we don't do small, we pulled off a massive event 🧡 what a day that was. Free market, free lunch , Santa, presents for the children. It was huge. The line went for hours, the sun was shining 🎁 smiles all around. Merry Christmas everyone and thank you for your support 🙏 ❤
