Your support to get Lea Nova to Shakespeare's Globe is much appreciated.
Takapuna, Auckland
Lea Nova Tisch, a Year 13 Takapuna Grammar Student, been chosen to preform in London this winter at Shakespeare's Globe as part of Shakespeare Globe Center NZ (SGCNZ)'s Young Shakespeare Company (YSC) - a dream come true after over a decade of passion for theatre. Preforming Julius Caesar in the home of Shakespeare will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to attend workshops, perform under the direction of industry stars, be immersed in the culture of live theatre and make invaluable connections for her dream career in acting.
To have achieved her eligibility for incredible opportunity, Lea was first recognised for her outstanding performance at SGCNZ's University of Otago Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festival's Regional Competition - playing Rosalind in As You Like It won her Direct Entry into the National Shakespeare Schools Production. This meant that she could skip the National Festival stage and join 48 talented student actors in Wellington, in which she performed a shortened Henry VI as Joan of Arc after just 5 days of rehearsals. Then came the heart-stopping call from SGCNZ CEO, Founder and Trustee Dawn Sanders, who confirmed her spot in YSC.
Lea is a member of the Preforming Arts Council, a prefect, and leader of the improvisational Theatresports Club at TGS, and thrives in challenging and creative environments. Help get Lea a step closer to living her dreams and showing NZ that the arts are precious to future generations’ creativity and expression.
