    Saturday’s Fundraiser for Hunter exceeded all expectations. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, what a village/community that is behind this young man. The obscene target of $164,343.00 has been hit – thank you thank you thank you.

    We are today closing the Give-A-Little page and have reconciled all the funds, please find our INCREDIBLE update below.

    Give a Little Page (at Closing) $98,415.00

    Top ups paid by donors $ 733.05

    Less: Give a Little Commission taken @ 5% $ 4,920.75

    Net balance from Give a Little $94,227.30

    Plus: Bank account balance – Koha + Quiz night team entries $20,495.00

    Plus: Proceeds from Quiz /Auction/raffles, heads/tales,

    donations given, T-Shirt sales, bar profits $62,272.00

    Hangi Proceeds $ 3,542.20

    TOTAL Donated/Fundraised going direct to Hunter $180,536.50

    Last week Hunter had his first treatment and will be having treatment every three weeks moving forward.

    FUNDRAISING UPDATES

    Due to other golfing events on the day, and low team entries, the golf scheduled for this Sunday, 23rd January, has been cancelled at this stage. We will be getting in touch with teams that have entered and paid to arrange refunds.

    Prizes and auction items that have been kindly donated that were being held for the Golfing event, are being held at Napier Tech Rugby Club. They will use these items during the season to have further raffles/fundraising for Hunter. If you would like to understand where something you have donated has been used, please feel free to email us fundraisingforhunter@hotmail.com.

    We have updated our Thank You list again as items have flooded in. Again we apologise if we have missed anyone, but sincerely thanks to all that have contributed, big and small.

    Again, the whānau thank you from the bottom of their hearts. You’ve done it – you’ve given Hunter the drug he needs in an astonishing two weeks! They are humbled by your support.

    Updates will continue to be provided as Hunter moves through his treatment.

    Great news to start with - Hunter started his treatment today and everything went according to plan, he’s doing well!

    Things have changed considerably since our last update. As you know, we smashed our initial target of $70,000 through our Give a Little page last week. However, this week Hunter has been offered another drug called Ipilimumab to be taken in conjunction with Pembrolizumab, which is fantastic news! Both drugs are a type of immunotherapy that have been proven to work well together which is encouraging. An additional drug means an additional cost, with our new target jumping to an eye watering $164,343! We had anticipated additional costs though, and with your continued support for the upcoming quiz, auction, hangi, and golf tournament – we are confident we will reach this target.

    Update on events as follows:

    • Quiz Night is sold out! IF you have missed out on the quiz, come along and enjoy the occasion, bar is open from 3:00pm. Remember - All profits from the bar go directly to Hunter, so arrange your sober driver!

    • Auction – We have been inundated with auction items from our amazing supporters. Have a look at our Auction list released later today – there is bound to be something to suit everybody, so come along and BID, BID, BID! Some items will be hotly contested.

    • Hangi Sun 16th Jan – tickets are now sold out!

    • Golf fundraiser – to be held Sunday 23rd Jan, 12:00pm (flyer attached). Grab your mates and put a team together – the format doesn’t require you to be a golfer, just bring one mate that is 😊 There are a lot of great prizes available for this fun day out, along with goody bags, and food provided.

  • Thank you Thank you Thank you

    Hunter’s wha̅nau have been absolutely amazed and inspired by everybody’s generosity. They shouldn’t have to pay for medication that has shown positive and encouraging results, and that our neighbors across the ditch in Australia receive free!

    Your generosity has exceeded all expectations! With our current amount raised in Give a Little, Hunter’s bank account, the upcoming quiz, auction, hangi, and golf tournament, we will exceed the target to pay for Pembrolizumab for Hunter. All going well post Hunter’s surgery today, we are hopeful he can start this drug as early as Thursday next week.

    Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! Our targeted amount was for the initial cost for 12 rounds of treatment, and if Hunter responds well to the treatment they will continue with more cycles. Outside of this, there will be extra interventions required under the advice of Hunters clinical teams, and the potential for additional treatment options later on. The money raised will help Hunter in getting the best care and medication available.
