I have been selected to compete at the 2019 Under 23 World Rowing Championships in Sarasota, Florida, in the Women's 4-!
Waikato
This is my second year making the team, which is a massive achievement for me and I am extremely excited for this opportunity. I came away from last years World Champs with a lot of learnings and I am ready to work harder than ever to use what I learned in Poland last year to show the absolute best we can be on the world stage.
In order to train for the Championships I have had to relocate to Cambridge for 3 months along with the rest of the 23 Team and we fly to Florida together on the 14th of July.
I love Rowing as a sport, it has taught me how to push myself to levels I never thought possible, how to have to push aside disappointment and rise up out of tough situations, its taught me the diligence of training hard every morning and repeating this day after day. It's taught me how to be focused on the process of what I am doing in the moment and not on the outcome. I've also learned a huge amount about myself, how to search for my inner confidence and ability and how to bring that out under pressure. I also love the ups and the downs of working with my team-mates in a pressured environment and working every day to not stress about the small things but work to get the best out of each other.
These are just some of the ways that rowing pushes me both mentally and physically and why your donation means so much to me so that I can achieve my dreams.
So thank you very much :)
