Help a South African Girl Follow Her Filmmaking Dream in Canada 🎬💫

Hi everyone,

My name is Raeann, and I’m reaching out with a heart full of hope.

I was born and raised in South Africa. Life was never easy—my family struggled to make ends meet, and the idea of traveling, studying abroad, or even dreaming big felt impossibly far away. But despite the challenges, one thing always kept me going: storytelling.

Movies were my escape. They taught me that even when life is tough, there’s beauty in the struggle and power in sharing our stories.

Thanks to an incredible opportunity through New Zealand, I was able to apply to Vancouver Film School in Canada—and by some miracle, I got in. I was even awarded a partial scholarship! It's more than I ever dreamed of, but the reality is: I still don’t have enough to cover the remaining tuition and living expenses.

I need to raise atleast $10,000 to pay the rest of my tuition and secure housing before classes begin in January 2026. Without your help, I might lose this once-in-a-lifetime chance.

I want to study film so I can tell the kinds of stories that matter—stories like mine, like yours, stories that give voice to those who are often unheard. I don’t just want to make movies. I want to inspire change.
