Raising funds to help the Haimona whānau during this critical time.
Rotorua, Bay Of Plenty
***Please see Page Update posted 27 February 2026***
Our whānau is going through one of the hardest times of our lives.
Robert Corey Haimona is currently in hospital after a brutal altercation while already battling cancer. As if cancer wasn’t enough, our family is now facing the fear and heartbreak of seeing him fight for his life following this violent altercation.
No matter his past, Robert is a son, a brother, a father, and someone who has been trying to make positive changes since his cancer diagnosis. He deserves love, support, and the chance to heal — and his family deserves to be by his side during this critical time.
Right now, our biggest struggle is financial. The costs are overwhelming.
We are asking for support to help bring our whānau together so Robert does not face this alone.
This has shaken our entire family. We are already grieving other recent losses, and this has added another heavy burden.
Any donation, big or small, will help. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this page.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with the Haimona whānau.
Crystal is the baby of our whanau and is currently in NZ Rotorua.
Funds raised will go towards:
- His children, Ngahuia Horo Haimona, Karapea Horo Haimona, and Te Ami Horo, to support their travel and living costs during this incredibly difficult time.
- His children and siblings, Mary Rameka, Crystal Rameka, Isaac Rapana, and Nigel Haimona, to transport him to Rotorua and for funeral expenses.
In Loving Memory of Corey – Help Us Bring Him Home 27 February 2026
With the heaviest hearts, we share that Corey — a beloved brother, son, father, grandfather, uncle, and nephew — has sadly passed away.
Our family is devastated and still trying to process this unimaginable loss. Corey was deeply loved, and his passing has left a huge hole in all of our lives — especially for his children and grandchildren.
We are now raising funds to bring Corey and home from Christchurch to Rotorua, where his family is waiting for him. One of Corey’s wishes was to go home to his mum. We are determined to honour that wish and bring him back to where he belongs so his family can give him the farewell he deserves.
The funds raised will go towards:
Transporting Brother home to Rotorua
Supporting travel for his children
Funeral expenses
Supporting his children during this incredibly difficult time
Every donation, message, and prayer means more than we can express. Thank you for helping us bring Corey home and for standing beside our family in our darkest time.
With love and gratitude,
Mary & Family 🤍
