Palmerston North, Manawatu-Wanganui
On Saturday the 2nd of July, Alison Gail Leber tragically lost her life in a fatal car accident on her way to work - doing what she loved most bringing cheese to the people!
Alison was born and raised near Seattle, WA. It was here that she met traveling kiwi Brian, where they have been married for 24 years. They remained in Ballard and raised two spectacular children, Fiona and Colin. Alison and Brian would travel their family to New Zealand after Fiona had spent her university years studying in Palmerston North where Brian was born.
It had been a tough 11 months apart as Brian flew to New Zealand first in January 2020 prior to Covid-19. Alison and Colin remained in the US until it was safe to travel again until December 2020. Where they joined me (Bailey) to live on a quaint Ashhurst lifestyle block.
Alison took a special interest in cheese and wine - these turned into her passionate business ventures in the USA. She continued this passion by gaining a job at the Pohangina business Cartwheel Creamery and later becoming the Fielding Farmers Market Manager. She quickly became a loved member of the Manawatu region.
To me, she was one of the most beautiful people to walk into my life. She would never complain nor criticize when anyone came to her for help - she would just roll up her sleeves and say "Alright, I'm ready". I'm going to miss her smile and laugh the most.
She had many more years ahead of her and has left behind heartbroken friends and family.

Hi everyone,
Thankyou from the bottom of my heart the love and appreciation you have given for the Leber-Huse Family. We managed to raise over $7,000 together and it is going to help the family in many amazing ways going forward.
Kind regards,
Bailey Follas
