Resilience and Hope: A Gaza Family's Struggle for Survival
Otago
Imagine enduring over 400 days, 9,600 hours, 576,000 minutes with the constant fear that you could lose your life and your family at any moment. This is the reality my sister and her family face every single day in Gaza.
Every day, my sister Mai and her family wake up to harsh realities. Food scarcity looms large, and soaring prices make necessities hard to afford. The family stretches whatever they find to ensure everyone gets a share.
The lack of medical supplies adds another layer of worry. My sister constantly worries over her children’s health, knowing that even a minor illness could escalate into a crisis.
Despite challenges, my sister’s family clings to hope. They dream of a peaceful future where the children can grow up, with access to education, healthcare, and opportunities. Though the future is uncertain, they refuse to give up, finding strength in each other. Resilience is the greatest asset for the people of Gaza. They draw strength from their faith, love for each other, and community support. My sister teaches her children hope and perseverance, instilling in them the belief that better days will come.
Financial support is crucial for their survival, helping them secure food and access medical care, and providing a safety net in crises. Despite hardships, they continue to fight for a better life, holding onto hope and each other. Your support can be the lifeline they desperately need, giving them the strength and hope to fight for their lives.
