Indie-Joy’s road to recovery

Our beautiful puppy was injured in a traumatic road accident. Going straight into ICU has given her the best chance to start a strong recovery.

Initially there was the issue of brain function and a large wound that runs down her groin. Her family wasn’t ready to let her go and decided to give her the best chance they could!

Indie has turned around quickly. She is eating and walking around and now well enough to undergo anaesthetic for a CT scan and to repair the wound she received. The costs involved have come as a complete surprise and compound a year with a number of unexpected medical and family issues.

In June Neena Maxwell underwent 3 surgeries a week after they brought Indie home. She has been their family’s comfort during several tough and painful times. Bringing joy to so many! Including while Neena’s solo mother was hospitalised after several minor strokes and seizures. The children have a great deep love for her!

We are uncertain how much her total care will cost. The CT scan and operation on her wound is $7,600 - $9,700 with further days at the vet hospital likely. Thankfully, we have pet insurance but it's not going to cover everything.
