Inspiring Amputee makes the CrossFit Games - Get Josh and his coach to the Adaptive CrossFit Games in San Antonio, TX, USA
Te Aroha, Waikato
Making the CrossFit Games for a CrossFit Athlete is the equivalent of making the Olympic Games for other sports...except in this case even harder. Our athlete had to be the top 10 in the WORLD (not just the best in his country) to qualify for this invite. That is the top 1% in the world in his sport. What's even more impressive - he's done it on one leg!
Meet Josh Loomans. Josh is an adaptive CrossFit athlete - or as you might say it - an amputee, missing his left leg from below the knee. Now - we all know how hard CrossFit is to do - imagine doing it with a prosthetic leg. That's Josh! No special equipment, no excuses, just turn up and do the hard work!
This amazing attitude has earned him a coveted spot at the Adaptive CrossFit Games in San Antonio, Texas, USA. Sadly our sport is not funded in anyway and Josh doesn't receive any support from Parafed or any other entity. So its up to us to help get him there.
We are doing all kinds of fundraising - Casino Nights, Raffles, clothing drives...anything we can to get funding to pay for Josh and his coach to get there.
We hate asking - but this time we need your support. Lets get Josh and his coach to the games to represent not only New Zealand but all the others out there who have been told "they can't" when we bloody know they can!!
I am the owner and Head Coach at CrossFit HWPO where Josh trains.
Money will be used primarily for flights and accommodation. Ideally we would raise enough to pay for living costs while in the USA.
