The Iron Duke Sea Scouts Group (wth Keas, Cubs, Scouts and Venturers) is run entirely by volunteers and is a thriving group with about 80 families involved. We are based at Port Nelson.

To make Jamboree a reality for anyone who wants to attend (and is eligible) we have a small (but dedicated) Jamboree fundraising team made up of parents and Leaders. Our aim is clear - to raise at least $1000 per Scout - so far 20 Scouts have expressed interest in attending Jamboree!

The 21st New Zealand Scout Jamboree is being held in Marlborough over 10 days in December 2016/January 2017. The Scouts will be involved in a variety of activities including Community Service.

Jamboree happens every 3 years and most Scouts only get the chance to go once as a "Scout". It will give our Scouts 10 days of adventure, challenges & opportunities for social growth, with a fair amount of fun along the way.

On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
