Help a 15-year-old Cook Islands boy/family in NZ for chemo. Support his journey with koha for daily costs. Meitaki ma’ata for your love.
Auckland
Kia Orana and warm Pacific greetings,
We are fundraising for our brave 15-year-old nephew, Alan George, from the Cook Islands. Alan is currently in Auckland, NZ, receiving life-saving chemotherapy for leukaemia.
Just months ago, Alan was a healthy teen who loved school, church, and time with whānau. His sudden diagnosis has turned life upside down. Due to limited treatment options in the Cook Islands, Alan and his devoted mum had to relocate urgently to New Zealand.
Alan’s mum has left her home, job, and support system in Rarotonga to be by his side. With no income, they’re struggling to cover the basics — transport, groceries, and living expenses — on top of the emotional toll of treatment.
This page is to help ease that burden so Alan’s family can focus on what matters most: his healing and care.
If you’re donating from the Cook Islands:
You may need to contact your bank to enable your card for international or online payments. Once that’s done, your donation should go through. Meitaki ma’ata for your aroa and support!
Your generosity brings hope, relief, and strength to a young Pasifika boy and his mama during an incredibly difficult time. Every little bit helps.
Meitaki ma’ata e kia manuia.
Alan and his mother are my relatives.
Money will cover Day-to-day living costs, Hospital transport, Groceries and emergency needs while Alan and his mom are here in NZ. Every koha helps ease the burden. Meitaki ma’ata for your love and support.
✨ One Step at a Time – Alan George’s Update 💛 12 June 2025
Kia orana Everyone,
Just stopping by to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported Alan George and his family so far. Your generosity and prayers have meant so much during this challenging time.
We wanted to give a quick update:
Alan George and his amazing mum have been able to come home for a short break from the hospital. It’s been a chance to rest, reconnect with family, and recharge before heading back next week for the next stage of his treatment.
This journey is far from easy, but Alan George continues to show incredible strength, and so does his mum. Every donation, kind message, and share makes a real difference in helping ease the financial pressures they’re facing.
If you’re able, please consider continuing to share this page or donating to help with ongoing travel, medical, and living costs while they focus on Alan George’s healing.
From our hearts to yours — meitaki ma’ata, thank you.
