It takes a village - better futures for whanau

For the past 8 years, I have found ways to help people with their struggles especially around Christmas where my daughter and I give out Presents for homeless and struggling individuals and now is the time for my to dedicate my heart and soul into this project by creating an organisation that can offer so much more than me alone.

I have learnt through my own life situations including Domestic Violence, Poverty, teen motherhood, financial struggles, fostering, studying, mental illness and working to support my family and now I want to give back what I have learnt, what helps me get through and steps to make a better future for our tamariki and whanau living with these struggles.

-Once up and running, we will offer:

- budgeting support, assistance in paying for school trips, camps, stationary, uniforms (no child should miss out due to financial situations out of their control),

-Support parents to enroll in study, work, volunteering counselling

-We will run specialized parenting programmes and motivational talks

and whatever else we see as a need within the community

This organisation is yet to be named but is going to be one that is set apart from what is offered currently where we don't expect people to leave their pasts, their whanau or their connection behind but to learn better ways to create a village support system to take everyone on our journey for better futures
