New Move, More Bills
Auckland
Hi everyone 🌈
My birthday is on the 22nd of February so I thought now is a good a time as ever to seek monetary support. I’m looking for a new place to live in where I can be happier and it demands a lot of money and I have many things to be paid for.
Firstly, I’ve finally left the home of my abusive parents and have not returned and plan never to. I’m staying with my brother and sister in law for the time being as I am in the process of hunting for flats near my workplace.
Additionally, I have outstanding student fees and this is where the story truly gets long.
To explain, I was studying Social Sciences at Auckland University of Technology (AUT) first semester 2016 and I was removed as Studylink (a New Zealand Government Owned Ministry that helps students make informed decisions about their student finance, how to apply for it and manage it) had failed to pay my fees on time. I decided to try my chances elsewhere by studying Social Services at Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT) in semester two that same year. I received my student allowance but was not told that my student loan had not gone through which means my student fees had not been paid. I studied through that whole entire semester not being alerted or informed this. Until the year of after. 2017. I got a call and it was then that I was also informed that because I had been studying at AUT for more than three weeks, I needed to pay fees for the whole entire semester despite having been removed and not studying the whole entire semester. And because it’s just how the system works, you cannot apply or reapply for a student loan to cover fees from a previous year.
In 2017, I dealt with it as badly as anyone else could. I put it to the side and ignored it. And it’s not been til this year 2018 and about a month ago that I’ve finally arranged weekly payments.
For AUT, I had outstanding student fees of $1,601.30 to be paid. I am paying $10 weekly for this and so far have $1,551.30 left to be paid. For MIT, I had outstanding student fees of $3,690.00. I am paying $100 weekly for this and so far have $3,190.00 left to be paid.
Because of these fees, I can’t continue studying until they are paid off. And now that I will be moving into a new place within the next week or so, I will be working much more than I currently am to be able to pay for rent and the many fees I have on top. And this is what the funds will be used for.
Please donate if you can. I don’t have much to give in return except my thanks and humble gratitude.
Big love to you all 💓💓
Give A Little To Rosita ❤️❤️ 16 March 2018
Hi everyone! This is an update on my living situation and finances. 🦋
I found and moved into a home a week after leaving my parents. I flat with 4 other lovely people and have been living here for 3 weeks now. I am within walking distance of my workplace. I am in a happier and healthier state of mind. And I am financially stable, thanks to the love and support I’ve had from my immediate family and closest friends.
Soon I will withdraw the donations I have received from you all to pay towards my student fees, but not before giving another heads up first. Therefore, I ask that you please donate if you are able to. If every single person who follows me donated at least $10, that’d be enough to pay off a big sum of my student fees one week at a time to alleviate financial pressure. I have many folks say they wish to donate but have not yet - please do while you still can, even if you donated a dollar. Every little bit counts and many can add up to a lot. 💌
