Giving back to Team Taylor
Tauranga, Bay Of Plenty
Hi supporters!
As you may know, Team Taylor have recently been drawn against a rare opponent known as Adenocarcinoma (AKA lung cancer). This little-known challenger has massively moved the goalposts for the Taylor family. In the coming months our wonderful Alice will need all her energy to score against this aggressive rival.
We all know Alice is a class act on and off the pitch, she always has her eye on the ball. Tackles, sidesteps, interceptions, Alice always puts her team first, whether that be her family team, her friends, her colleagues, or her patients, she never fails to get stuck in to make sure that others achieve their potential, and get the glory they deserve.
Now it is time to lace up our boots and strengthen Team Taylor. Our support will make it possible for Alice to optimise the home advantage. With some funds in the bank Team Taylor can hoof it down the pitch, catch adenocarcinoma sleeping, and lift the proverbial silverware for seasons to come.
For those who aren’t football fans I am sure you can decipher from this commentary that our wonderful Alice has been diagnosed with cancer (adenocarcinoma). It’s rare and aggressive and in her lungs. The cancer can not be cured. It will be treated with targeted chemotherapy in the hope to give Alice many more years. She will of course be needing every bit of energy she can muster in the months ahead to fully focus on her health, and on getting well.
Abby Wambach is a two-time Olympic gold medalist, a FIFA Women's World Cup champion and a member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame. Her well-known quote seems pertinent to share.
“I've never scored a goal in my life without getting a pass from someone else”. Abby.
I don’t really need to tell you that Alice has spent her life so far as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, physiotherapist, colleague, friend, team member (and many other roles) being the one who makes that pass; supporting others so they can score. Now is the time to pass back to Alice, so she can aim for the back of the net without financial obstructions!
This fundraiser is not only to support Alice's health and wellbeing but of course Jakes, and Lily and Anna's too. Alice's diagnosis has meant she is not currently able to work - placing a big financial stress on the family. This fundraiser page offers you a place to give back to a deeply generous and compassionate family. It is a place you can help Alice, even from afar. It is somewhere you can offer hope that it may be possible to find the inevitable costs of future unfunded treatments*.
Let’s pass Alice a financial through-ball so she can have the best attempt at influencing the outcome, because sadly… THIS IS NOT ONLY A GAME.
Please donate what you can to help Alice and her beautiful family fight this disease for as long as she can. Thank you for your generosity, kindness and support.
*These are likely to be next generation ALK tyrosine kinase inhibitors
A grateful recipient of Alice's friendship, kindness and wisdom for over 20 years.
Alice, Jake, Lily and Anna's health and wellbeing, including living costs whilst Alice is unable to work and the inevitable costs of future unfunded cancer treatments
