Our Trust has seen a huge demand for rehoming adult dogs, young dogs and a lot of puppies. Most surrendered dogs and pups come with no vaccinations, no medical history, no registrations or microchipping and very rarely have they been desexed.
We are struggling to meet demands on us for these critical services.
The Trust have taken care to review and update their policies around rehoming into foster and adoption. We do make sure all vaccinations, registration, microchipping and desex (when old enough) are completed.
The costs borne by the Trust are huge and varied, Services fluctuate depending on the dogs needs, age, size and situation. Our rehoming team volunteer a huge number of hours matching dogs to applicants.
Over the past several months the Trust has had a large number of pups surrendered for fostering and rehoming. We currently have ten pups in foster including three waiting for homes, seven waiting to be advertised as soon as they are old enough and we are about to take on a full litter of twelve pups and their mum.
We are desperate for funds to help our welfare programme to ensure all our dogs are set up for their new homes. The estimated cost depends on needs on top of the requirement the Trust insists on to set the pups up for their new owners. These can vary from $400 plus per pup.
Enhancing the lives of dogs, their owners and the community We Love Dogs are a New Plymouth based charity.
All funds raised goes towards canine welfare to cover the critical and necessary costs to ensure they have food, vaccinations, microchip, registration, and desex.
Over the past three months 8 August 2022
Our Trust volunteers have been putting in so much time to help dogs in our community find their best lives with wonderful fosters and adoptive families. We are seeking donations to cover the additional and unforeseen costs that come with caring and rehoming dogs.
Over the past three months alone the Trust has adopted 6 adult dogs, 18 puppies, and have 9 pups in foster and rehoming on behalf a further 7 adult dogs.
We are urgently seeking donations to assist with ongoing costs to cover the basic needs - vet checks, vaccinations, microchipping, registrations, desexing - all these services require funds, the adoption fee is fully utilised but needs a top up. All donations are fully utilised and hugely beneficial to the dog's wellbeing and will set them up well when adopted to their new owner.
