Volunteering in Malawi for 6 Months as a Teacher

Next year I will be going to Malawi for 6 months where I will be teaching kids over there in a rural Primary school, called Chimbowe Primary School (which very lacking in resources e.g. there are 640 pupils and only 5 teachers.) It was described as one of the most rural placements in Malawi. But, I hear the kids are eager to learn and I'm very excited to feel that I am helping them get the education that they so desperately need!!

I will be using my education (that we are fortunate enough to have in NZ) to teach students to try help break the cycle of poverty with education, and other projects that we will be take up over there.

I am going because I want to experience a unique culture, completely diverse from what I am used to. I am looking for a challenging and exciting experience which I am sure I will get :)

As this is volunteer work, I am paying for all the costs such as visas, immunisations, plane tickets, living costs and teaching supplies for the children etc. Which is currently already looking like being upwards of 9 grand. Your donation will help me get over there and make a genuine impact on their lives!!
