We are fundraising for a headstone for Jack Cutelli. On the 28th of October 2020, we lost Jack to suicide, aged just 14.

On the 28th of October 2020, we lost our darling Jack to suicide, aged just 14. He was the last person we would ever expect to lose this way - we were completely blindsided by his death, as was his friends and the wider Whanganui community.

He was a truly beautiful soul, with endless love to give and MANA. Although cheeky and a bit of mischief, Jack was unconditionally kind to anyone he met and had time, patience, and empathy for everyone.

While we have been incredibly blessed to have support from our community during this time, we would love to give Jack a headstone fit for the tremendous person he was. This headstone will need to be big enough for four people, hence the extra cost we are facing. We want to be able to achieve this, while still giving Jack the memorial he deserves. We would be incredibly grateful if you could help us do this.

No amount of words could describe the gorgeous shining light my brother was - a bright star in the dark for many of us. He always worried how others were, and wanted the best for his friends and family. There was no indication of Jack wanting to take his life - we truly believe he didn't intend for it to go as far as it did.

Please don't attempt - let someone know. You would be amazed at how many people are ready to catch you when you fall. People often don't realise the finality of death. For Jack - he will never learn to shave, he will never learn to drive. He won't experience a school ball or a live concert. He will never get to travel overseas, he will never get married, he will never have kids of his own. You don't just step away from the present, you bury your future. Honour and care for your wairua - your spirit.

I'm Mia - Jack's older sister and only sibling. I'm fundraising for Jack on behalf of my family.

Use of funds

All funds raised will be going towards Jack's headstone, which will eventually include us. We are expecting the cost of Jack's headstone to be more than our target and current account balance combined, so any contribution is incredibly appreciated.

Hello everyone!

We are so incredibly humbled we hit our original goal of $4,000 in just four days!

Thank you so very much to everyone who has donated so far.

Mum has recently visited the memorial vendor we are having Jack’s headstone made by. They are yet to come back with an exact quote, but have mentioned it might be slightly more than first expected.

We are so lucky and grateful to have such a huge financial weight taken off our shoulders by everyone’s generosity thus far.
