  • Ongoing Support for Jacqui - Ku needs a Job in Christchurch

    The following is a message from Jacqui. She really needs the Canterbury network of employers and friends to help her out.

    "My hubby needs a job in Christchurch. He is still in the North Island working. We can't afford for him to fly home every week so I only see him once a month. This is devastating for me as my cancer is terminal. I NEED HIM HOME! Please can any of my friends who have contacts in Christchurch help me out. He has a tertiary qualification in first line management, has every license you can get, does budgets, managed multiple sites, and up to 34 staff and contractors and is a great leader. His current employer has been amazingly supportive but unfortunately they don't deliver the same services here in the South Island. HELP HELP HELP ME PLEASE!"

  • Jacqui's ongoing battle

    Its been a while since I did an update for Jacqui's page. During this time Jacqui has faced some additional serious challenges. In February Jax suffered a broken arm due to cancer. She has recovered from this however last week they started working with Jax doing the planning for her steriotatic radiation. She had CTs and MRIs and a spinal jab.

    The only upside of the lockdown for Jax is that Ku is back home in isolation with her. This is a worrying time for all New Zealanders but especially for those who are fighting cancer and other illnesses. They have the additional health concerns to contend with along with all of the financial impacts.

    Our love and best wishes go out to Jax and her family at this time. Any supportyou can give would be really appreciated.

  • In between treatments

    Jax is starting treatment this week in Christchurch. In between her treatment cycles when she is feeling stronger her dream is to travel in New Zealand to see friends and family while she still is able too.

    This requires funding above and beyond day to day expenses. Any support you can give to help realize this dream would be appreciated.

  • Jacqui and Ku's Special Day

    On 14 December 2019 Jax and Ku renewed their wedding vows in front of family and close friends in Christchurch. It was a lovely day with a beautiful bride.

  • Surgery and Treatment

    On 7 November Jacqui had extensive surgery on her spine to get rid of as much of the tumor as possible. She has come through this and now has to focus on her rehabilitation at Burwood Hospital which specializes in spinal rehabilitation in Christchurch. Jax is one very brave lady and is fighting for more time. Ku and her plan to renew their wedding vows in December 2019. Please help them make this a special day.
