We Thank you all for taking the time to read our post for our givealittle cause. Thank you.
Auckland
Today I am posting as my son Jade has been given a Te Uru Rangi scholarship through Dev Academy a web development coding course, that he's wanting to participate in and has been accepted into. We need to come up with the remaining amount we are funding for and would love your support to make this possible.
Jade is the eldest of 4 of my children who will be 17 in December and currently studies at Te Ara Poutama, an alternative school that has done wonders for my once troubled teen.
After 2yrs of not being in school, Last Year Jade received a trophy and a few medals and certificates. one for Overall academic achievement for a Maori student, the other Most outstanding effort and perseverance in the first 5 months at Te Ara Poutama.
This year he has completed his level one and 15 level 2 NCEA credits, something he admitted to not focusing on at school, as he felt more respected at Te Ara Poutama
Because this is a not a NZQA accredited course he is unable to get a student loan and does not qualify for any government assistance for his studies.
Being young with no previous work experience has been a obstacle, fortunately this has not discouraged Jade in applying for jobs advertised on indeed. he has interview tomorrow at Cotton On sylvia park and is crossing his fingers hoping he gets some xmas work.
I am proud to say Jade has goals and dreams this year, that he never had before and I encourage him to pursue and follow his dreams, to create a promising future with the outstanding opportunity that he has been given.
Thank you Te Ara Poutama for seeing my diamond in the rough. Thank you all for supporting us and helping me keep my son off the streets of South Auckland. Thank you Give a little for making this advertisment possible.
I'm Jades mother who is just trying to keep my teen son on a positive track. To lead and be a good rolemodel for his younger siblings, and create his own path in this world, so hes not on the streets causing trouble in South Auckland.
All funds will be going towards the tuition fees outstanding for the Dev Academy course.
