My nephew Jarden is 16 years old and has had type 1 diabetes since he was 11 years old. He has been hospitalised 42 times since diagnosed i
Nationwide
An insulin pump would help control his diabetes without injecting. It would help reverse the eye disease that he has developed and prolong the associated kidney disease and give him some quality of life. His life expectancy without the pump is 24years of age.
Update for 25/07/2010 25 July 2010
Hi Everyone Thank you to all those wonderful people who have made pledges towards getting an insulin pump for my nephew Jarden. Not only have we had pledges through Givealittle but also a generous grant from Variety Club so in early August my nephew will go into Masterton hospital to get his pump. With the extra money we have it will be used to pay for the monthly consumables that he will need that cost between $100.00 to $200.00 per month. We are now hoping that my nephew will be able to have a normal life. He?will be able to attend school more regularly and even get back into playing sport. We really appreciate the support you have given us. Many Thanks
