Please help our family as we struggle through the stress of cancer, Jason now is not working ....

Canterbury

My name is Pammella Boyle and my husband Jason has just been diagnosed with Aggressive Prostrate Cancer - this cancer has spread just outside the prostrate gland so far, we are also waiting for results on an x-ray of his head as they found a funny bizarre shaded spot that they need to confirm, they are unsure if this is cancer spread or not. Treatment is starting as soon as possible; the first part is a rather large hormone injection injected directly into his stomach before starting radiation treatment. Because of nature of his job being a dangerous goods driver and the fact he has to visit hospital every day for six weeks, time off work is now a definite requirement, due to all the previous hospital appointments and the emergency admittance from an infection following his Prostrate Biopsy - he no longer has any sick leave or holiday leave left. We are hoping to use the wonders of the givealittle foundation to help cover our living costs/bills/rent over this period (unfortunately your bills do not stop when you are sick)- my husband of 6 years and partner of 12 is my life - he is the most important man in our 3 daughters lives, these girls are only 10, 9 and 6. I hate asking for help and am embarrassed to have to resort to this request - but life has been tough over the last few years, he lost his job after the September earthquake, we had just started to get back on our feet and he loses his job again (no fault of his own other than last on first off) - finally obtaining work as a dangerous goods truck driver (where he is now – good employer and he loves his job) - but after a few years of the tight fight we have no back up, no life insurance as we had to cancel it when he lost his job -it was an expense we could not afford, the money was needed for feeding our children and the roof over our head - now we need it - it's not there - I am worried of what will happen, my husband is scared for us and he should not have to worry about this - he needs to concentrate on fighting this terrible illness. So I am asking for any help to see us through this terrible time - and would like to thank you in advance for any help you can provide :)

Update - He is no longer working - so life just keeps getting harder ;(

Well appointments are now coming in thick and fast and of course meaning more time off work - next week another CT scan, then the following week an MRI, and then back to the Oncologist (he is pretty cool) and what I love about the Oncology department - you have the one Doctor (who gave us his contact card -wow ae) none of this different one each time - I think that this is amazing and makes dealing with the horror of Cancer so much easier - as you build that trust relationship with the man that basically holds your (or your husband's) life in his hands.
