Jasper recently had an x-ray which highlighted several severe complications with his hip and knees, this has come as an unwelcome surprise.

Jasper dog, 2 1/2 years old, handsome as ever, a dog that simply loves life.
My name is Jasper, I will be 3 in February, I'm a LARGE dog although my mum calls me a tiny Chihuahua. I live with my mum and dad and next week it will be our one year anniversary together! My old owners wanted me to have a better life so put me up for adoption, they had already saved me from being killed when I was a baby as I wasn't as good as the rest of the pack, I'm so glad they saved me!
Recently I had an incident in the back yard, it was dark outside so my owners couldn't see what happened exactly but it left me with a nasty cut on my shoulder and a sprained leg. My mum took me to the vet and they treated my cut, I even got treats for being brave. A week passed and my sprained leg became worse.
Today 01/12/2016 I thought I was going to doggy day care as usual however I was dropped off at the vet with my blanket and teddy while my mum went to work. The vet made me very sleepy and then they took x-rays of my knees and hips to see why my sprain hadn't come right. When I woke up I could hear my mum talking to the vet, she sounded really sad, I cried out from the other room and she came in and gave me a big hug.
You see the vet found a lot more problems than my mum ever thought which has caused my mum and dad to be extremely upset. The x-rays show that I have a dislocated knee which has been causing me to stop in my tracks, they also showed that my hips aren't as good as they should be, in fact the bet said they are surprised I can even run at all! The vet has said that I need 3 operations to ensure that I can go on and live my life somewhat pain free, one operation on my knee and both hips need to have the end of the femur cut off as they are dislocated. Ideally I would need a double hip replacement at the cost of $10,000, this isn't possible so my owners are going to try the next best thing which will cost a minimum of $3000. My owners knew nothing about any of this as I am really good at hiding my pain.
When my mum got me home we both sat on the floor and cried, my mum said if we can't get the funds together I'll have to be put to sleep, I don't know if that means sleeping on my bed everyday or not, I would rather be awake and hanging out with all my friends and family.
I'm only young but I am very well behaved, I listen to instructions and have never eaten the cats biscuits even though they sit right in front of my face, I think this deserves to live a little longer!
My mum and dad call me their baby, the love me so much and work very very hard to ensure I have everything I need, this time they can't do it alone.
All proceeds will go towards my 3 operations, my owners can cover some of the costs however the medication and on going rehabilitation costs are going to add up very quickly.
Thank you for your time.
Karina, Hayden and their fur baby Jasper xx
