Support this great Ōtautahi Christchurch jazz community - and come along for a great time, twice each month.

The JazzUp jazz jam is held twice a month, 1st and 3rd Tuesday, at the Good Times Comedy Club. We'll kick off 2025 with our 69th jam on February 4th 2025, starting our 4th year!
JazzUp is an incredible community and a mainstay of the local jazz scene. All ages come along. Beginners and hobbyists get to play with professionals, and everybody extends their skills. It's a welcoming, safe and inclusive atmosphere. And the level of talent on display is amazing. Most people come along just to listen and enjoy the buzz.
Unfortunately, JazzUp is not sustainable without extra contributions.
We don't charge for entry. We count on the audience buying drinks and food at the bar. We pay the 5 members of the house band members a mere $50 each time, a gesture to acknowledge their time and commitment. But the club doesn't make enough over the bar to cover $250 each night.
In 2024 we raised $545, short of our goal but enough to make it worth carrying on.
So we are running another campaign for 2025 for anyone who wants to support this wonderful community.
The money will be paid to Russell Stedman who is underwriting the jam by $300 each month, so that he is not so badly out of pocket.
Fingers crossed some funding will come through from Christchurch City Council - we'll find out in a few months.

We're winding up at the end of June 2 June 2025
Kia ora Jazzup 2025 supporters, I want to let you know earlier than most, I’ve decided to wind up JazzUp. Our finale will be on Tues 17th June, which will also be our 76th jam. I’ll announce this during the jam on 3rd June (tomorrow), and then will post it on Instagram and Facebook.
Thank you for your financial support and presence at JazzUp this year. It’s been a huge learning experience for me these past 3 and a half years, and I trust also for everyone who has been involved.
I hope you will join us at our last 2 jams, especially at the last hurrah on 17th June, which will be JazzUp's 76th jam ... make it a great finale.
