Hi everyone! It's been a while since my last update. A lot have happened and here's the update regarding Jean's condition. She was finally discharged from the hospital after 12 days and is now happily recuperating at home. Although she had developed muscle atrophy, she's slowly regaining her strength by passive exercise at least 10mins a day, walking and standing with support, and eating oatmeal. She still has little to no appetite but she can tolerate water and dry crackers. But she definitely gained a bit of weight since coming home!! Yay!

It's been a good week and Jean and our family are extending our heartfelt gratitude to the support you've given us. The donated amount will go to buy take home medications/injections, and lab tests.

For now, Jean will have to regain all her strength back before a consultation with her oncologist whether to still continue with her chemotherapy or not, or if there's any alternative treatment for her cancer.

    Thank you so much x

  • Update on Jean's Hospitalisation

      21 July 2023

Hello everyone! Thank you again for your support to my Mom's cancer journey and current hospitalisation - here's an update on her condition.

Today marks the 7th day of her stay. Her hematologist had prescribed her the medications Filgastrim to treat her very low wbc and Epoetin alfa IM to increase her rbc. She also had an ultrasound for her swollen feet and the results confirm DVT. The good news is that her albumin levels is starting to increase after receiving medication for it, and she eats better now, slowly for the meantime, compared to before when she's overly dehydrated due to the pain of canker sores in her mouth as a nasty side effect of chemotherapy. Due to her compromised immunity, she's not allowed any visitors aside from my dad and sister. However she is more responsive, although talking makes her weak so she just uses her hands and/or a pen and paper to express her thoughts. She is extending her gratitude for all your help and looking forward to getting better. Her group of doctors said that her condition is getting better compared to the weeks prior and that they are looking at discharging her soon, depending on how her condition will be in the next few days. At the moment she continues to take her medications and daily injections to increase her immunity and low blood group. She will have another lab test tomorrow.

Again, thank you for your help! Your donations gave us one less thing to worry about.
