Help me raise funds for Mama's emergency hospitalisation and ongoing treatments against Stage 3C Endometrial Cancer
Flat Bush, Auckland
Our dear Mama, Jean (who is based in the Philippines), was diagnosed with Stage 3C Endometrial Cancer and going through a rough health battle. Despite a surgery, 6 weeks of chemo and radiation, the cancer had spread to her peritoneum and abdomen. A much stronger dose of second line chemo is given to her every three weeks. On Matariki, she was rushed to emergency. She had severe dehydration and infection due to the chemo adverse effects- all the lab results came back critical and the doctors advised us to prepare for the worst. Her medications cost $450 a day, the final bill, medical procedures, and doctors' fees are not yet accounted for. We were told she might stay for over three weeks up to a month. As much as we try our best to provide for her, I admit sadly, our resources are now almost exhausted.
I made this page so I could get additional funds for her hospitalisation and ongoing care. It can be difficult asking for help- but we want to provide her the best possible treatment. Her love ones are rallying around her, but the financial strain is becoming too much to bear.
Mama is a positive soul- she's a dog lover, and loved by many. She's been fighting a really good battle until this recent incident. She may not be here in NZ, but kindness transcends all borders. Please help me give Mama a chance to recover and continue her journey to getting better! Your contribution, no matter how small, can make a huge difference in our lives. Thank you for sharing the Kiwi spirit!!
Goes entirely to her medical bills, medications, and other expenses related to her cancer treatments
I will be sending the funds to my sister Anjela who is currently with my parents in the Philippines
Jean is Home 1 August 2023
Hi everyone! It's been a while since my last update. A lot have happened and here's the update regarding Jean's condition. She was finally discharged from the hospital after 12 days and is now happily recuperating at home. Although she had developed muscle atrophy, she's slowly regaining her strength by passive exercise at least 10mins a day, walking and standing with support, and eating oatmeal. She still has little to no appetite but she can tolerate water and dry crackers. But she definitely gained a bit of weight since coming home!! Yay!
It's been a good week and Jean and our family are extending our heartfelt gratitude to the support you've given us. The donated amount will go to buy take home medications/injections, and lab tests.
For now, Jean will have to regain all her strength back before a consultation with her oncologist whether to still continue with her chemotherapy or not, or if there's any alternative treatment for her cancer.
Thank you so much x
