Jens has been selected to represent New Zealand at the WKF World Cadet, Junior & U21 Karate Championships in Jesolo, Venice. A truly top-tier event in the karate world!
Karate is not just a sport for Jens but a way of life. This year marks the 9th year of his karate journey, which began at 6. Today, Jens is a proud 2nd Dan black belt, having won all the national kata titles available and currently holding the U14 Oceania champion title.

His dedication to karate has been crucial for his growth, pushing him to excel and prepare for international competitions.

Jens finished with 5th in world championships 12 October 2024
The World Junior Karate Championships in Jesolo are still ongoing, but Jens has completed his events, finishing in a commendable 5th place! For his first international competition and being so close to the podium, it's both thrilling and a little bittersweet.
The level of competition was incredibly high, especially matching up with an athlete from Japan who ultimately won gold. Although Jens didn't make it to the top three this time, we are incredibly proud of what he accomplished.
We owe a massive thank you to everyone who has supported us. This includes everyone who contributed through Givealittle, the friends and teammates who cheered on Jens, and his sensei, who, despite jetlag, worked tirelessly to help Jens refine his kata right before the competition.
This championship has been a tremendous learning experience for Jens, full of insights and growth. We are deeply grateful for this journey and for the community that has supported us throughout.
Thank you all once again for being a part of Jens' karate journey, we are excited to see what Jens will achieve next.
Thank you so much for the support🙏
