Get Johanna to Harvard

Johanna is an Auckland-based, Wellington-bred young lawyer who has been accepted by Harvard Law School to complete her Master of Laws.

Her mates are all really proud of her so we started this page to help her reach her higher education dreams. It turns out that a US legal education is really expensive, so we thought we'd share her story, in the hope that other people would want to support her too.

Johanna is a thoroughly wonderful individual who loves cooking and cats. She gives unselfishly of her time and is incredibly caring. Johanna is also a super auntie to her two year old niece, Grace (we've checked, and Grace is in full support of Johanna, Po from the Teletubbies, and cream doughnuts). She's also a pretty great friend, and although we'll miss her in her year overseas, we're delighted to know that she's been accepted into one of the world's top law schools.

Johanna has spent the last six months applying for scholarships to help her fund her trip to Harvard, but she still needs more funds to help pay for things like a new laptop (her current one is 6 years old), course books, tacos, health insurance, and tuition.

Johanna is a 2016 recipient of the Cleary Memorial Prize, which goes to the most promising young lawyer in New Zealand. In 2015 she won the Auckland Young Lawyers mooting competition. She's also been on the National Leadership Group of NGO JustSpeak for the past two years, is part of the Pride Network at Simpson Grierson, and started an informal networking group for young female lawyers in Auckland (also known as "cheese night") so as you can see she's an all round great human being.
