This page has been set up to support Joseph Clements (DreadJo) through a tough time because we all love him, very very much
Otago
Our friend and loved family member Joseph Clements, aka Dread Jo, is going through a tough time at the moment.
Jo has kept this tough time quite private as he did not want to burden his friends and family, but he knows that he is well loved by many, and has decided that he would like to share his experience and reach out for support at this time.
For those that are not yet aware, Jo was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2017 and has since been treated for this, with treatment directed at his bowel. His bowel has shown improvement but unfortunately the cancer has spread and is now showing in his liver.
Here is a small message from Jo regarding his current experience :
"Scans like mine would indicate 6-12 months left for a normal patient. However my growth is aggressive so the doctor thinks I have a few months less than that. I am getting on with putting together an art exhibition at the local community gallery but they are slow to respond as yet. Also I would like to put together a gathering, especially keen to have some of my family make it to NZ. Sometime in the next few months I think.
Fairly well in myself but how do I tell all my friends?? Want to raise awareness, don't want to shock, don't want to leave my friends in the dark."
We have started this fundraising page as we love Jo, and we want him to be able to have his health needs met, regardless of the cost. We also want him to be able to do the things that he loves, and spend time with those that he loves, without thought of money.
We understand that money is just one way that we can support Jo, and we encourage everyone to reach out to Jo and provide support in your own way too.
Jo can be contacted via facebook (though he is about to move houses and does not have access to internet at home) or on his cell phone which is 022 3196598. Jo is living in Dunedin, NZ.
We are sorry to be the bearers of bad news, but we know that Jo wants to share this time with you, and he has given his approval for us to start this campaign.
Watch this space for details about the exhibition Jo is planning, and the party he is setting up, as he would love you all to attend. It will be sometime between now and winter, in Dunedin NZ.
Sending huge aroha to all of Jo's friends and whanau, here and abroad. Lets show Jo how much we care for him.

we love Jo!
These funds will be raised for Jo to use as he sees fit, be it for his health and well being, or for his enjoyment and happiness
