Helping Joan recover after being hit while on duty on the Meola Rd crossing
Point Chevalier, Auckland
Kia ora, e te whānau
Many people in the Pt Chev community will know Joan, the wonderful woman who cares for our tamariki as they cross the zebra crossing on Meola Rd.
On Thursday morning, Joan was hit by a car on the Meola Rd crossing and suffered a broken wrist and leg. :(
She will be in hospital for a while as she recovers.
I've set up this Givealitte page so the community has the opportunity to wish her well and contribute funds to help her out on her recovery.
I've known Joan for the last 7 years as she's supervised our kids crossing the road.
Anything that Joan wants or needs to help with her recovery.
Funds will be paid out to Joan's daughter Monique who is helping her during this time.

Update on Joan - Returning to Meola crossing
Joan has been home for several weeks and is recovering well. In fact, so well that she's hoping to be back on Meola Road crossing duty after the October school holidays :))
I'm sure we will all be delighted to see her again!
She asked me to pass on a message to say "a huge thank you to everyone for the Give-A-Little page and the amazing community and all of those beautiful children from Pt Chev. It brings tears to my eyes so often."
