Update on Joan - Returning to Meola crossing

Joan has been home for several weeks and is recovering well. In fact, so well that she's hoping to be back on Meola Road crossing duty after the October school holidays :))

I'm sure we will all be delighted to see her again!

She asked me to pass on a message to say "a huge thank you to everyone for the Give-A-Little page and the amazing community and all of those beautiful children from Pt Chev. It brings tears to my eyes so often."

Just to let you all know that Joan's injuries meant that, unfortunately, her return home was short-lived. She has had to return to hospital-care while her broken arm and leg heal and she is mobile enough to go home. It's pretty frustrating for her but she is determined to recover. We all look forward to seeing her back around the community. :)

Joan was discharged from hospital earlier this week and is now at home. Her leg will be in a cast for the next 11 weeks, so it's going to be a long recovery, but she is absolutely determined to return to her crossing duties :)

She's extremely grateful (and a bit embarrassed) by the support but has really, really appreciated all the messages she has received.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Joan and we all look forward to seeing her again on Meola road :)
