Johnny and Michele's crap 2018
Northland
Hi everyone my names Nicole I have made this page for my good friends Johnny Shanaghan and Michele Clarke they have had a very bad 2018 to say the least.
Back in May their two dogs one a female 2 year old Golden Retriever "Mooi" and their male Chesapeake Bay Retriever "Seeza" went for a walk down to the waterhole they go for swims at, but this day was like no other a bad man actually shot and killed Mooi and shot at Seeza injuring his back leg and shattering bones and left him in the bush to die.
Seeza did not die he ran for cover back into the bush. After we found the bad man who had done this we got Moois body back for her mum and dad and asked this bad man if we could search for Seeza on his property he agreed and the next day we set off and YES we did fund Seeza alive but he was in a bad way. He had to have his leg amputated and with this comes vet bills very big vet bills and ongoing care for poor Seeza. These two people will give you the clothes off their own backs and have helped me soooooo much over the time I have known them. Then when you think life can't get any more cruel Johnny gets some not so great news....
He has prostate cancer and needs to have surgery so only weeks after all this has happened to their beautiful dogs and with Johnny still at work full time he works away from home driving all over the country, sounds glamourous.... haha.... it's not it's hard long hours.
Now they have this to deal with. They live near Whangarei Northland but his doctors are in Auckland , so Johnny, Michele and Seeza all load up and head to Auckland for treatment.
Surgery over and he gets the all clear to head home. Johnny who has always worked stays home for 8 weeks then straight back into work and hasn't stopped.
Doctors thought they had got it all but that was not the case and Johnny is receiving hormonal therapy and then Radiotherapy to try and kill those Cancer sells that were still looming.
As of yesterday the 15th October 2018 Johnny had a appointment with his doctors down in Auckalnd and because Michele couldn't go down as she works from home as a "Home-based childcare" and wants to keep the incomes coming in, they conference call while Johnny is in the doctors Michele is on the other end of the phone in Northland. They were told the news the treatment isn't going to get rid of the cancer it will hopefully just prevent the cancer from spreading any further. Once the current therapies are completed they will look into chemo and there is a new drug that is not currently funded but they are forever hopeful it will eventually be funded and they are waiting to see the outcome of current treatments.
Meanwhile last week one of their rescue cats came home injured and it has had to have its back leg amputated so once again off to the vet and while they were out driving on the weekend the discovered an injured pet duck and they found the owner who said he didn't want the ducks so Johnny and Michele took it home and are trying to save it.
If life couldn't get any more crueler.... these have got to be the most nicest people you will ever meet, they will open up their home to you even if they don't know you. They won't ask for help but everyone close to them has told me they deserve this, I am doing this for them to take the stress off maybe Jonny doesn't need to work so hard and this will help as the lack of income while he was off sick and other expenses that they have incurred have really put a financial drain on both of them so this may help. We need more people in this world like these two.
Funds will help them as they had a loss of income while Johnny was off work and unexpected financial bills like the vets bills with the dogs being shot.
I am a good friend of Johnny and Michele's I bred their female retriever Mooi and also Malichi this is how we crossed path's.
Due to loss of income while Johnny was off work the funds will be used to take the financial stress off these two they work so hard and can't even catch a break.
