In 2024, we launched our “Give a Little” page to help raise funds for Te Ramanui’s Top 10 Challenges, and thanks to your incredible support, we’ve made significant progress. However, the journey is far from over! As we step into 2025, we are resetting our goals and gearing up for an even more ambitious year of fundraising.

So far, Te Ramanui has taken on some truly remarkable challenges, including rock climbing, kayaking, hiking, and more. Each challenge has not only pushed Te to his limits but also raised vital funds for his ongoing support and independence. With every milestone, Te continues to prove that there are no limits to what he can achieve with the right support and encouragement.

With your continued support, we plan to take on even bigger challenges in 2025. Our goal is to raise enough funds so that Te can purchase a car for his support workers, enabling them to take him to more places and open up even more opportunities for adventure and community involvement. This is just the beginning, and with your help, we believe we can accomplish something extraordinary.

Thank you for being a part of this journey with us. Let’s make 2025 a year of even greater achievements, where together we continue to break barriers and create a lasting impact!

  • 🌊 Challenge 6 Complete! My Epic Adventure 🚣‍♂️🎉

      27 December 2024

Today was all about conquering the Magazine Bay to Cass Bay Kayaking Challenge—the 6th milestone in my fundraising quest! 🏆

The morning started with coffee and gearing up for the mission. To save a long walk, we decided to kayak both ways. The first leg to Cass Bay was smooth sailing with calm winds and favourable currents. After a rest stop and some reflection, it was time for the return journey.

But the way back was a battle! 🌬️🌊 The wind picked up, the current turned against us, and progress was slow. Around Corsair Bay, it got so tough we considered letting the current carry us back and walking the kayak home.

That’s when I stepped up, paddling harder and faster than ever. A deal was struck—if I paddled hard, I’d get all the hand signals I wanted. Motivated and determined, I gave it my all. The hardest part was Magazine Bay corner, where even the Coast Guard offered help. But after coming so far, giving up wasn’t an option. With one final push, we made it back!

To celebrate, there was a late lunch and well-deserved ice cream. 🍦

This wraps up my 2024 challenges, but the journey isn’t over yet! I’ll be continuing these adventures in 2025, so stay tuned for more challenges being conquered. Thanks for all the support—you make every step of this journey worthwhile!

I wanted to share that there are other ways to help out besides donations. Sharing my Givealittle link on your social media pages can make a HUGE difference in spreading the word. A special shout-out to my amazing friends at The Kawakawa Cafe for their wonderful support and for giving me such a kind shout-out! 🙌

If you’re able to share my link with your networks, it would mean so much. Together, we can reach even more people who might want to get involved.

5th Fundraising Challenge: Te Smashes the CrossFit Circuit!

With just a month left, our 5th challenge kicked off early with an intense CrossFit circuit! My sister Maria arranged this challenge, and we both dove into the workout, excited to push our limits.

    The circuit included:

    5 shuttle runs

    10 sit-ups

    20 step-ups

    40 seconds on the bike

    5 burpees

    40 seconds of skipping

30 seconds on the rowing machine

We repeated this four times, with a 2-minute rest in between. It was tough, but I powered through every round, fueled by the support of everyone cheering me on. All that training paid off, and it was a proud moment as I checked off another challenge!

A huge thanks to Haven Community for having me!

This halfway point in my journey feels amazing, and every challenge is bringing us closer to our goal. If you’re following along, please pop over to my Givealittle page to support my efforts!

This challenge really pushed me outside my comfort zone, especially when it came to coordination and fine motor skills. Despite the tough parts, it was an amazing experience, and I'm proud to have completed it. I faced my fears, conquered the first level of the course, and even ended with an exciting flying fox ride!
