Supporting Lou Fuller through a difficult time after a serious injury has taken her out of the workshop.
Nelson
Lou Fuller, lead tutor at the Centre for Fine Woodworking in Nelson, has been a big part of so many people’s journeys in the workshop. She’s generous with her time, her knowledge, and the way she supports people—always calm, patient, and genuinely caring.
Since January, just after her wedding, Lou has been off work due to a serious neck injury. She’s been dealing with constant pain, and the medication she’s on makes day-to-day life really difficult. Even simple things aren’t easy right now.
On top of that, ACC has declined her surgery claim and has now stopped the payments that were helping cover her income. It’s left her in a pretty tough spot—trying to focus on recovery without the support she should have.
We’re putting this together to help take a bit of that pressure off.
The money raised will go towards supporting Lou through her care plan, and helping with everyday costs while she’s unable to work and focusing on getting better.
If you’ve learned from Lou, worked with her, or just spent time around her, you’ll know how much she gives to others.
We’d really love for people to show up for her now—whether that’s through a donation or simply by sharing this page. It all helps, and it all means something.
Lou was my lead tutor at the Centre for Fine Woodworking—an incredibly kind, thoughtful, and generous person. She’s the soul of CFW and has shaped so many lives and careers over her 16 years there. She’s a true inspiration to me.
Every contribution will help Lou cover her day-to-day costs and the weekly appointments she needs to keep going. With ACC payments stopped, she’s been left without income. Your support helps ease that weight so she can focus on healing.
