  • Please get behind our final mangrove planting for 2022

    We are seeking support for a final planting of 500 of the seedlings they have been propagating. The seeds are being gathered, propagated and then planted by the young people and we purchase them for NZ$2.50 each (total cost NZ$1,250). We would also like to make a contribution to their end of year Christmas celebration (boat trip and picnic) as a thank you for the team of young people involved (NZ$500).

    A new planting is done every few weeks when they have at least 500 seedlings ready. Each seedling costs NZ$3.50, this covers the cost of finding the seed, nurturing it until it is ready to plant, and then planting it out. $2.50 of this goes to the young people who do the work.

    As part of offsetting your home or organisation, would you consider sponsoring a planting? Here’s how:

    • Let us know how many mangroves you would like to purchase towards the next planting (at $3.50 per plant) -

    • Transfer the funds through our Give-a-Little page and send us the name you want used on your Certificate

    • We will provide you with a Certificate (as a pdf) acknowledging the number of plants you have purchased.

    • Watch our Facebook page for updates on each planting, your contribution will also be acknowledged on the FB post so you know that you got the trees you paid for.
