We would be so grateful if you could help Jorja in the recovery from her severe head trauma.
Canterbury
14 year old Jorja suffered a severe head trauma on Sunday 10th January 2021. It was a very emotional 10 days while Jorja lay in an induced coma as it was uncertain what the impact would be until she regained consciousness. The doctors were unsure whether Jorja would wake up.
Jorja is currently in the Paediatric High Dependency Unit in Christchurch and is making amazing progress given the severity of her injury. She is now fully conscious and aware of everything that is going on, however, has lost her short term memory.
We want to ensure that Jorja can have her family around her supporting her in her recovery without any concern about finances.
This fundraising is to help particularly Jorjas Mum (Mel) and Dad (TJ) with costs so they can be at the hospital with Jorja. The money would cover food, petrol, parking costs, and general living expenses from taking time off work.
Jorja's recovery will take months and it is likely she will be moved to a specialised rehabilitation centre in Auckland. This will obviously increase the costs with flights and accommodation required for Jorja's support network.
We are so grateful for any donation amount, it means a lot to Jorja and her family.
