To help Josiah's family navigate through the storm of this long battle ahead of them.
Bluff, Southland
On the 18th December, Josiah was the passenger of a vehicle that was involved in an accident. He was flown from Invercargill hospital to Dunedin's ICU with extensive injuries and will require to stay there for some time during his recovery for a long road to rehab.
His family are going to need to travel back and forth from Bluff to Dunedin for some time and we would like to make life a bit easier by raising some funds to pay for travel & accomodation. Josiah is going to need multiple surgeries due to the extensive injuries he has suffered.
This is a very fragile time for the whole family and every thought, prayer and penny counts towards making this journey a little less difficult to navigate through.
Close friend, family member and work colleague.
Accomodation, travel, necessities.
Josiah's journey to recovery 3 February 2022
We are now approaching week eight of Josiah’s recovery. After initially spending a week in Dunedin the decision was made to airlift Josiah to Christchurch hospital where he has remained.
He has been through multiple surgeries to fix fractures in both of his legs, his jaw and his pelvis and he is healing well from these. Josiah is currently waiting to be transferred to Burwood Spinal unit where he will get the best treatment for some of the severed nerves he received in the accident. This is where Josiah’s rehab journey will begin and will be one of the most testing times for him. He is a very strong young man who has been through a lot already but still has some major hills to climb.
Both Josiah and his mother are missing their friends and family back in Bluff and wish to thank those that have taken the time to wish them well or have donated to this give a little page.
