Julie’s Animal Refuge
Julie’s Animal Refuge helps neglected, abused and abandoned animals.
AucklandJulie’s Animal Refuge is run by a team of dedicated volunteers and uses funds from donations and the sale of items in the op shop, to pay for all of the refuge’s running costs and vet bills which are not cheap.
Julie has never been one to ask for financial support in the 22 years it’s been running. Now, due to increased demand, the refuge does need additional financial support to be able to continue to provide the level of support to the animals and the local communities.
Many of the animals that come into the Refuge have either been abandoned or dumped, strays that have been trapped, or animals that have been injured. The Refuge provides a warm bed, nutritious food and medication such as worming and flea treatments, as well as desexing and micro chipping until the animal finds its new forever home. Some animals need to be fostered to be socialized before they can be adopted.
