Please follow Julie’s Breast Cancer Journey and if you can help in anyway, please do. We would be forever grateful for your support.

Bell Block, New Plymouth

I am Julie’s younger sister Kelly, and two weeks ago (January 2023) she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Because it is a breast cancer that travels to the 2nd breast she is undergoing a double Mastectomy, chemo and radiation. She is presently waiting to see if it has spread to the second breast.

This is going to be the fight of her life and she is the most positive person I know. We are all trying to help them as much as we can. If you know Julie, you know she is the most dedicated wife, mother and Nana Ju. She is also a highly passionate teacher who and has given 23 years to kids and the community. Julie has had to put her teaching on hold. As you can imagine the stress of just doing this alone and dropping down to one income is an extra stress.

Her journey will be a long one with up to a year off work so I thought I would set this up for Ju, Darrell and Callum as they have helped my family so much with our own cancer journey.

She has a beautiful husband Darrell who works so hard to support his family and we want to help relieve the financial pressure as much as we can for him too. Even though going through her own scary journey, in the classic Julie way, she is already teaching others of the more unknown signs of Breast Cancer and what to watch for. If you want to follow her journey. The link is below. Her main aim for sharing this journey is to spread the word of unusual signs of breast cancer. It’s her way of continuing to teach others when she can’t be in the classroom.
